Our QUALITY sets us apart!
• We use only USA MADE WIRE - others cut corners with poor quality
IMPORT wire! Import wire is often "under gauge" (thinner than industry standards)
and has inferior quality copper.
• Crimps performed by AMERICAN workers on POWER machinery.
• EVERY crimp is inspected for integrity.

If you want to land the trophies, you have to HUNT them! iTroll’s HUNT Mode* is the most powerful and revolutionary feature ever put into a throttle controller!
Many customers have told us that HUNT is the most powerful fish catching tool they have ever used! Here's why . . . .
When running in HUNT Mode, iTroll can make your baits change speed every MINUTE you are fishing - adding unmatched "action" that provokes more strikes. Simply put, HUNT mode catches fish!
Before iTroll, throttle controllers were purely reactionary and took a passive role in the fish catching experience. In comparison, an iTroll in HUNT Mode is literally stalking the fish and taking an ACTIVE role in your angling success.
HUNT Mode is THE answer to any troller’s worst nightmare - the “Speed Rut”. It’s no wonder that an iTroll in HUNT Mode is considered to be “The Deadliest Tool in Fishing”!
Of all the electronics and accessories you can put on a boat, there is nothing that compares to an iTroll in HUNT mode when it comes to enticing a fish to take a bait. We hear it constantly from customers (many who are professional guides / tournament fishermen) that iTroll has dramatically improved both the number and quality of their catches!
NEW in OS5.0 (released in Generation 2 units):
iTroll now stores EIGHT HUNT programs in it's internal memory! Having these programs in memory allows you to instantly switch between them to accomodate varying conditions (upwind / downwind) or to fish different baits and presentations.
Four of these programs are the "original" type as described immediately below. These programs are labeled as memory addresses A to D (see iTroll owner's manual, section 5 for details).
HUNT programs with memory addresses e and f are throttle cutting programs created specifically designed to entice strikes by simulating an injured, or tired bait.
HUNT programs with memory addresses G and H are throttle bumping programs created specifically designed to entice strikes by simulating an fleeing bait.
HUNT programs e, f, G and H are described further down this page.
"ORIGINAL" HUNT Mode - Memory addresses "A" to "D": "Original" HUNT Mode is a speed varying software program that constantly goes between slowest and fastest trolling speeds. In between these two speeds, it will stop at a number of speeds on the way up and down for a time interval that you set.
"Original" HUNT is easy to use - Each program (A to D) consists of four simple
The lowest throttle setting you want to troll at.
The highest throttle setting you want to troll at.
Note: Video shows iTroll with OS1. OS4 is even BETTER!
Here's an example of how "Original" HUNT works: You set a program to vary the boat’s speed from a MinSpeed of 7% throttle to a MaxSpeed of 15% throttle. If you set StepSize at 3 and StepTime at 1, the throttle will make 3% steps and will stay at each step for a minute.
For this program, the throttle will behave as follows:
7% - 10% - 13% - 15% - 12% - 9% - 7% repeat.
Please note that this HUNT program is
hitting different speeds on the way up than on the way down.
It's easy to make iTroll do this. Subtract the MinSpeed value from the MaxSpeed. If the number is even, set odd numbered steps and vice versa. In this example 15 - 7 = 8 (even) so we used 3% (odd) steps.
iTroll’s original HUNT Mode is the most efficient way to determine what baits and speeds are the most productive to fish. In this example HUNT program, there are six trolling speeds. If there are 4 different baits being trolled, HUNT Mode will make 24 bait / speed presentations (4 baits X 6 speeds) to the fish every 6 minutes!
Throttle behavior with 7 - 15% program with 3% steps.
Note the 2% steps caused by the upper limit
of 15 and lower limit of 7.
This allows different speeds on the way up than down!
"Original" HUNT mode can be used in numerous ways:
A) To Explore:
Use a wide gap between the MinSpeed and MaxSpeed parameters to explore many speed / bait combinations. Exploratory HUNT programs are what you would use when you are not sure what bait / speed is working at a particular time. The 7% - 15% HUNT program above can be considered exploratory.
B) To Add Action:
When using HUNT to explore and it finds a bait / speed combination that is productive (example 12% throttle), DON'T go to manual throttle control and troll at 12%! By doing so, you surrender the power of HUNT mode!
Reprogram your HUNT parameters to BRACKET 12% to constantly make the bait change speed. An example of a HUNT program that brackets 12% is MinSpeed = 10%, MaxSpeed = 14%, StepSize = 2%, StepTime = 1 Minute. With these parameters, you will use throttle settings of 10%, 12% and 14%, with a speed change every 60 seconds. This makes your presentations more realistic and will catch you more fish!
When using HUNT mode to add action, you also gain valuable information that tells you if the fish are becoming passive or getting more active. If you get the majority of hook ups at 10%, you can reprogram HUNT to bracket 10% (instead of 12%). If the fish like 14%, then simply re-bracket 14%. Using iTroll's HUNT mode to add action always keeps you in the game!
C) Two Step:
Two step programs work really well. An example of a two step program is: MinSpeed = 10%, MaxSpeed = 15%, StepSize = 5%, StepTime = 1. Boat will "toggle" between 10% and 15% throttle every minute.
This gives the appearance of a bait that swims and then rests. Two step programs are EXCEPTIONAL in any type of current or swell because it replicates how bait fish swim in those conditions. Depending on the type of bait you are trolling, there could be significant changes in trolling depth from one speed to the other which also works to your advantage!
Two step programs tend to work better with a slightly larger StepSize value that Explore or Action HUNT programs so the bait has an enhanced 'fleeing" or "wounded" effect which often results in VISCIOUS strikes!
HUNT "CUT" Programs "e" and "f"- Provoke strikes by simulating an injured or resting bait:
These programs are two speed programs that allows you to CHOP (reduce) your trolling speed at programmed intervals.
Strikes typically occur when the speed chop occurs or when the boat accelerates back to trolling speed.
Cut programs consist of four simple programmable parameters:
- TrollSpeed: Trolling speed throttle setting. - Time at TrollSpeed: Time at trolling speed between "CHOPS". Adjustable from 1 to 12 minutes in one minute increments. - CutSpeed: Chopped throttle setting. - Time at CutSpeed: Time at chopped speed. Adjustable from 1 to 60 seconds.
HUNT "BUMP" Programs "G" and "H"- Provoke strikes by simulating a fleeing bait:
These programs are the OPPOSITE of the "CUT" programs above - they allow you to BUMP (increase) your trolling speed at programmed intervals. Strikes typically occur when the speed increase occurs.
Bump programs consist of four simple programmable parameters: - TrollSpeed: Trolling speed throttle setting. - Time at TrollSpeed: Time at trolling speed between "BUMPS". Adjustable from 1 to 12 minutes in one minute increments. - BumpSpeed: Bumped throttle setting. - Time at BumpSpeed:
Time at bumped speed. Adjustable from 1 to 60 seconds.
CAUTION: Make sure that you use common sense when setting any HUNT program so that the boat accelerates / decelerates in a controlled manner!
